NOTICE OF

PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

The Early County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 8.17 percent. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at Early County Administrative and Training Site (ECATS) 40 Harold Ragan Drive, Blakely, Ga., at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. 

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at ECATS, 40 Harold Ragan Drive, Blakely, Ga., at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, and at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 15.961 mills, an increase of 1.206 mills (over the rollback or 1 mill over the current rate). Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 4.755 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $59.34 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $60.30.
